Kristi Britt, Republican Candidate for District Attorney

Texas Strong, Texas Born, Kristi Britt has embraced Corpus Christi as her home for more than twenty-five years where she raised her four children and is a proud grandmother of three boys. Kristi was raised the small coastal town of Port Bolivar Texas. Her mother and father were married for fifty-two years before her father passed away in 2021. Kristi is proud of her father's service to our country as a paratrooper in the Army's 101st Airborne and misses his storytelling.

After Graduating with Honors From TAMUCC - Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Finance with a Minor in Accounting, Kristi followed her dream of becoming an attorney. She Graduated from South Texas College of Law  while raising her 4 children and working full time.

Kristi Britt is proud to serve the citizens of Nueces County as your current Assistant District Attorney. Based upon her proven success and experience in prosecuting all criminal cases including child abusers, Kristi Britt was promoted to Felony Chief where she was supervising felony and misdemeanor cases, including those in the specialized units of the District Attorney's Office - The Child Protection Unit, Violent Crime and Gang Unit and Juvenile Division. 

Kristi Britt currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney in the Juvenile Division.  Kristi is  a self-driven principled leader, steadfast and committed to building renewed faith in the District Attorney's office with common sense solutions and stronger justice.  

Kristi understands the concerns of the community and building a solid District Attorney's Office is at the heart of what drives her to run for Nueces County District Attorney.  Leadership, Accountability, Respect & Dedication to the job create an efficient department that has a greater impact on protecting the citizens of Nueces County. 

Kristi has real world experience. She began her career in the oil and gas industry with the Ahuja family at Magnum Producing in 2006.  She joined Gastar Exploration as a Division Order Analyst in the Land Department in 2011 and in short time, took on a leadership position. Kristi continued to excel in her career and was acknowledged for her superior work performance and leadership skills. 

Kristi worked full-time at Gastar through law school and following law school became the Staff Attorney and Land Records Director assisting in the management of large volumes (acreage/value) of multi-state oil and gas assets. Kristi takes on every challenge with dedication, respect, and fortitude.

After the company was sold in 2019, Kristi pursued her passion for Criminal Law and joined the Nueces County DA‘s office as an Assistant District Attorney. 

As an ADA, Kristi Britt understands the challenges that being a District Attorney will bring and is excited to pursue all efforts to enhance the protection of the citizens of Nueces County. Protecting the citizens in our community with Stronger Justice is her top priority and she is ready for the next chapter in her career as the Nueces County District Attorney. 

As District Attorney, Kristi Britt will bring her integrity, work ethic, principled leadership experience, and continued dedication to protect and serve our community while upholding the laws of the State of Texas and adhering to our United States and Texas Constitutions.
